വികലമായ പരമ്പരാഗത ചിന്താഗതിയില്‍ നിന്ന് മാറി കുട്ടികളോടൊപ്പം നിന്നവരെ കാണാന്‍, അവരെ അറിയാന്‍,പ്രോത്സാഹിപ്പിച്ചു വളര്‍ത്താന്‍ അവര്‍ക്കറിയില്ല..അല്ലെങ്കില്‍ ത്തന്നെ
നക്കാപ്പിച്ച പോലെ കിട്ടുന്ന മൂവായിരമോ നാലായിരമോ ഉലുവയ്ക്ക് ഈ തുഴച്ചില്‍ തുഴഞ്ഞാല്‍ പോരെ?
നഴ്സുമാര്‍ക്ക് ശേഷം അവഗണനയുടെ ആട്ടും തുപ്പുമേല്‍ക്കുന്ന ഏറ്റവും വലിയ അസംഘടിത തൊഴിലാളികള്‍...എനിക്കവരോട് ഒരു ദേഷ്യവുമില്ല.
I am quite sure that if there were schools now like Tomoe, there would be less of the
violence we hear so much of today and fewer school dropouts. At Tomoe nobody
wanted to go home when school was over. And in the morning we could hardly wait

ആ സങ്കടം ഉള്ളില്‍ നന്നായി അറിഞ്ഞത് കൊണ്ടു തന്നെ എന്റ്റെ മക്കളെ മാത്രമല്ല ഞാന്‍ ഇടപെടുന്ന ഒറ്റ കുഞ്ഞിനേയും നിന്ദനങ്ങള്‍ കൊണ്ടു കൊച്ചാക്കില്ലയെന്നു ബോധപൂര്‍വ്വം തീരുമാനമെടുത്തിട്ടുണ്ട്.
മുതിര്‍ന്നവരുടെ അപക്വമായ ഇടപെടലുകള്‍ ഒരു കുഞ്ഞിനെ വളര്‍ത്താനോ തളര്ത്താണോ ഉതകുന്നതാനെന്നു ടോമോയലെ കുട്ടികളും അവരുടെ ഹെട്മാസ്ടറും ജീവിതം കൊണ്ട് സാക്ഷ്യമാകുന്നു. നമ്മെ പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
